Basic knowledge about athlete's foot

Approximately one in three women suffers from athlete 's foot!?

With more opportunities to wear mules and sandals barefoot, not just boots, women have become more conscious of the problem. Perhaps related to this increased awareness, it seems that about one in three women have worried, "Could I have athlete's foot?" Let's understand the correct way to prevent athlete's foot and take proper care of it.

*According to a survey conducted by Rohto in February 2007, targeting women aged 20-50.

These symptoms include:
I might have athlete's foot.

  • [The skin between my toes is peeling.]

[The skin between my toes is peeling.]

It can be divided into two types: the moist type, where the skin becomes damp, macerated, and oozing, and the dry type, where the skin peels thinly and becomes red.

The wet type involves more severe redness, and secondary bacterial infections can cause swelling of the entire foot.

  • [Blisters are mainly present on the soles and edges of the feet, and at the base of the toes.]

[Blisters are mainly present on the soles and edges of the feet, and at the base of the toes.]

It mainly contains a clear, slightly viscous liquid on the soles, edges, and base of the toes.

Small blisters form, and when they burst, fluid comes out, and the skin gradually dries up and peels.

It doesn't always cause itching, and blisters may not be very noticeable,
Sometimes people don't realize they have athlete's foot and leave it untreated.

  • [The entire sole of the foot has a thick layer of keratinized skin, making the skin hard.]

[The entire sole of the foot has a thick layer of keratinized skin, making the skin hard.]

Athlete's foot can develop on the entire sole of the foot, including the heel where the stratum corneum is thick and the skin is hard. The itching is mild.
Currently, it's difficult to distinguish it from cracked or chapped skin just by looking at it.

The entire soles of your feet will become covered in a powdery substance.

If left untreated, this type of athlete's foot frequently leads to toenail fungus.

What is commonly known as athlete's foot refers to "tinea pedis," a condition caused by a fungal infection of the feet by a type of fungus called dermatophyte (*). While tinea is best known as athlete's foot (tinea pedis) and nail fungus (tinea unguium), it can also infect the skin, hair, and nails of the entire body.

(*Note) Dermatophytes reside in the stratum corneum, the outermost layer of the skin, and use keratin, which makes up this layer, as their main source of nutrition.

Types of ringworm
  • [Jock itch]

When it develops in the groin area (from the groin to the genitals and buttocks), it is called "tinea cruris," or more formally, "tinea cruris."

It is more common in men and is accompanied by erythema and intense itching.

  • [Zenitamushi]

Tinea that occurs on areas other than the hands, feet, scalp, and groin is called "ringworm." Its formal name is tinea corporis.

These lesions can appear on the trunk, limbs, face, and neck, and typical symptoms include ring-shaped papules, redness, vesicles, dryness, and peeling skin.

  • [White Clouds]

The condition that develops on the scalp is commonly called "ringworm," but its formal name is "tinea capitis."

It is relatively common in children and can cause thinning hair, dry, peeling skin, itching, and sometimes severe inflammation.

Recently, there has been an increase in cases with few symptoms.

Exiv ® effective
reason

The function of the ingredients

Terbinafine hydrochloride is an excellent active ingredient that blocks the synthesis of the cell membrane of athlete's foot fungus at an early stage, exhibiting a fungicidal effect.

Terbinafine hydrochloride works by blocking the synthesis of ergosterol, a component of the cell membrane of athlete's foot fungus, at an early stage. When this is blocked, squalene increases and ergosterol decreases, causing the cell membrane to break down. Therefore, terbinafine hydrochloride destroys the cell membrane of athlete's foot fungus, and the fungus dies.
