It's important to know in advance.

Pregnancy begins when an egg and sperm meet while both are still alive. Sperm can survive in a woman's body for about 2-3 days, while an egg is said to survive for only about 24 hours after ovulation.
Therefore, intercourse before or immediately after ovulation is most likely to result in pregnancy, and knowing your ovulation date in advance is very important if you want to get pregnant.

How ovulation can be determined

Luteinizing hormone (LH) is a type of female hormone that is normally secreted in small amounts. In the middle of the menstrual cycle, the amount of LH secreted increases sharply for a short period. This surge in LH secretion is called the LH surge, and it is said that ovulation occurs within about 40 hours of the LH surge. The "Do-Test LH Ovulation Prediction Test Stick Type" is a test that detects LH secreted in urine to capture the LH surge. Basal body temperature is known as one method of predicting ovulation, but using this test in conjunction with basal body temperature is a more useful aid in predicting the ovulation day.

This test kit detects the LH surge and does not confirm ovulation. If you do not become pregnant after testing for 6 cycles and having intercourse at the appropriate time, please consult a doctor.

Timing of the test

When using the "Do-Test LH Ovulation Prediction Test Stick Type," the first thing you need to do is decide on the start date of the test.
This page allows you to easily calculate the start date for testing based on your menstrual cycle and the start date of your period.

How to make a judgment

STEP 1: Check if the urine volume indicator line is showing correctly.

*If the urine volume confirmation line does not appear, the test may not have been performed correctly, so please retest with a different test stick.

STEP 2 Compare the intensity of the [Test] line and the [Reference] line in the result window to determine whether the result is positive or negative.

*Please interpret the results of the test kit as follows.

*The first time you get a positive result, it means that an LH surge has been detected, which is a sign that ovulation will occur soon.

Notes regarding the judgment

LH is normally secreted in small amounts, but its secretion varies from person to person and fluctuates depending on the menstrual cycle.
The "Do-Test LH Ovulation Prediction Test Stick Type" is a test that determines whether or not the LH concentration in the urine is above a certain level. Therefore, if your urine LH concentration is normally high, you may continue to get a positive result. Conversely, if the concentration is low even during the peak of secretion, you may continue to get a negative result.

1.If you test positive on the first day of testing

Ovulation may have already occurred. If you wish to become pregnant, having intercourse as soon as possible will increase your chances of conception.
Please continue testing until you can confirm that the result has turned negative.
If you cannot confirm this, please refer to section 3, "What to do if you remain positive during the testing period."

2.If negative results continue during the testing period.

Please consult a doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible.
Normally, this product will produce a positive result when used during ovulation. However, in rare cases, it may not produce a positive result due to the woman's endocrine background, such as an irregular menstrual cycle or a short LH surge (within 12 hours).

3.If the test remains positive during the testing period.

Please seek medical attention from a doctor as soon as possible.
A positive result may persist regardless of ovulation during pregnancy, after childbirth, after miscarriage, after gestational trophoblastic disease such as hydatidiform mole or choriocarcinoma, after induced abortion, or due to medication for infertility treatment, endocrine disorders, or menopause.

4.If you take a test and confirm a positive result each time, and have intercourse at the appropriate time, but do not become pregnant after 6 cycles or more.

Difficulty conceiving isn't solely due to ovulation issues. Ideally, you should consult a doctor together with your partner.
However, if you are in your late 30s or older, have been unable to conceive for a long time after marriage, or wish to become pregnant soon, we recommend that you see a doctor as soon as possible.

Q. Should it not be used for contraception?

"Do-Test LH Ovulation Prediction Test Stick Type" is a test kit that helps predict ovulation in order to achieve pregnancy, and is not designed for contraception. Ovulation can occur significantly more than the 40 hours that normally ovulation occurs after the LH surge, sperm can survive in the body for more than 3 days, ovulation may occur before the test kit detects the LH surge, and even if the test result is negative, an egg may still be surviving in the body, so it cannot be used to reliably prevent pregnancy.

Q. My menstrual cycle is irregular, sometimes shifting by 5 or 6 days. When is the best time to start taking tests?

If your menstrual cycle is irregular, use the shortest cycle from your last two to three cycles as a guide to determine the expected start date of your next period. However, if your menstrual cycle is extremely irregular, it could be a sign of a serious underlying medical condition, so please consult a doctor as soon as possible.

Q. When is the most fertile time to get pregnant?

It is predicted that ovulation is most likely to occur within approximately 40 hours of the first positive pregnancy test, and this period is considered the most fertile time for conception. Therefore, it is recommended to have sexual intercourse as soon as possible after receiving a positive pregnancy test result.
