  • When is the best time to test?
    You can test it at any time you like, but we recommend doing so after a period of abstinence (2-7 days after your last ejaculation).
  • It's for two tests, but do I really need to take the test twice?
    You don't necessarily need to take the test twice, but you can take it at any time you like to understand your own condition.
  • Is there an expiration date?
    Although there are no specific instructions, please use the microscope lens as soon as possible after opening, as dust and other particles may adhere to it.
  • I wasn't able to properly collect the semen in the collection cup.
    Since the measurement requires a sample of semen from one ejaculation, please collect another sample using a commercially available paper cup or similar container.
  • Even after 20 minutes, the semen hasn't liquefied.
    Wait another 30 minutes and check if it liquefies. If it still doesn't liquefy, we recommend consulting a medical professional.
  • I don't know if the semen is liquefied or not.
    The semen has liquefied when it is uniform and smooth. If it is still thick or lumpy, wait another 30 minutes.
  • Is it okay to use semen immediately after ejaculation?
    If the liquid is not uniform, the sperm count will vary, so please make sure it is liquefied before use.
  • I left the semen out for over 30 minutes.
    It's fine for up to about an hour. Please make sure it has liquefied before using it.
  • Dust and debris got into the semen.
    Please collect another semen sample as the measurement may not be accurate. When doing so, please use a commercially available paper cup or similar container.
  • Is it okay to collect semen using a condom?
    Condoms may contain medications that inhibit sperm movement, so always collect sperm directly into the collection cup.
  • Can the anti-slip mat be reused?
    Once used, please discard the item and do not reuse it.
  • Does the anti-slip mat have a front and back side?
    Since it's a double-sided adhesive type, there's no front or back.
  • My smartphone screen is dim.
    You can get a bright view by positioning the microscope directly beneath your home's fluorescent light. Alternatively, if you have a desk lamp, position it a few tens of centimeters to 2 meters away so that the microscope is directly below it.
  • The image is out of focus.
    Secure the connection point between your smartphone's front camera (the camera on the LCD screen side) and the microscope, then rotate the serrated part (diaphragm) of the microscope to adjust the focus.
  • How much semen should I put on the collection stick?
    It's sufficient to dip the tip of the collection stick (the white part) about 1 cm into the semen.
  • Even after applying semen to the sample stage with the collection stick, sperm cannot be detected.
    Since the amount of semen may be small, please collect another sample of semen using the collection stick and then apply the semen to the sample holder.
  • I've lost my gathering stick.
    You can also collect the sample using a toothpick. Collect the semen on the tip of the toothpick and place it on the sample holder.
  • Sperm have been detected, but when is the best time to measure them?
    Due to capillary action, semen will flow onto the sample stage, but the flow will subside after about one minute. When the semen flow stops and only the sperm are moving, it's time to measure.
  • Can the sample stage be reused after washing?
    This product is not reusable. Please dispose of it after use.
  • How should I dispose of the measurement kit?
    Please dispose of it according to your local municipality's regulations.
  • What does 6.72 million/mL mean?
    The WHO's standard semen analysis values are based on semen analysis of men in couples who conceived naturally within 12 months of trying to conceive. 6.72 million/mL is the standard value for motile sperm concentration, calculated by multiplying sperm concentration (16 million/mL or higher) by sperm motility (42% or higher).
  • I took the test twice, and the results were different between the first and second attempts.
    Sperm are known to change depending on environmental factors and circadian rhythms, so please consider this as a general tendency for your own body.
  • I took the test twice; once it was above the standard value, and once it was below the standard value.
    If your blood sugar level falls below the normal range even once, we recommend that those trying to conceive consult a medical professional.
  • It was well below the standard value.
    If you are trying to conceive, we recommend consulting a medical professional.
  • The levels were significantly above the standard values.
    Please continue trying to conceive for 6 cycles. If you do not become pregnant after 6 cycles, we recommend that you and your partner consult a medical institution.
  • Why do you consult a doctor if you haven't conceived after six or more cycles?
    It is said that the probability of healthy men and women conceiving within six cycles using the appropriate timing method is approximately 90%. If you do not conceive after six cycles, other factors may be at play, so it is recommended that you undergo testing at a medical institution.
  • Where should I seek medical advice?
    Please consult a nearby obstetrics and gynecology clinic or urology clinic specializing in male infertility treatment.
  • Do you sell semen collection kits separately, excluding the microscope?
    We do not sell semen collection kits separately.
  • Can the app be used on both Android and iPhone?

Sperm quality fluctuates depending on physical condition and environment. One study* found that sperm concentration and count increase in the morning and are higher in spring than in summer.

There are various actions men can take when trying to conceive, and one of them is to think about sperm quality.

Just because you can ejaculate and have a sufficient amount of semen doesn't mean everything is fine! There might be a small number of healthy sperm, or even none at all. According to the WHO, approximately 50% of infertility cases are due to male factors.

A sperm motile concentration test kit can calculate how many healthy sperm (sperm with good motility) are present.

What is the ideal timing for sex to conceive?

While sperm in a woman's body can survive for about 2-3 days, an egg released after ovulation can only survive for about 1 day.
Therefore, the most fertile time for conception is considered to be from two days before ovulation to the day of ovulation.

It is said that the probability of getting pregnant within six cycles using the timing method (having sex from two days before ovulation to the day of ovulation) is about 90%.
