While presbyopia and dry eye are common eye strain conditions, cataracts, nearsightedness, and farsightedness can also cause eye fatigue due to impaired vision. In severe cases, symptoms may include fatigue, stiff shoulders, headaches, neck stiffness, and even being bedridden due to autonomic nervous system dysfunction, so caution is advised. In 2022, he was awarded Honorary Membership by the Japan Contact Lens Society, and in 2023, Honorary Membership by the Japanese Society of Ophthalmic Optics. He currently serves as a councilor of the Japan Ophthalmological Society and a member of the drafting committee for the Japanese Medical Optics JIS standards.
